Frequently Asked Questions

Q1. Do your services stretch beyond New York?

Yes. Our parent coaching service is available to families across the United States. Our nanny search & advisory and nanny agency services are principally New York services. However, we do occasionally undertake searches further away. Please enquire with us directly.

Q2. Do your parent coaches bill for travel time and expenses?

It depends. Clients are only billed for travel time and travel costs if the roundtrip exceeds 2 hours.

Q3. Your parent coaches are former British nannies. What makes British nannies so special?

The British nanny system is a tried and true institution dating back centuries. There is no equivalent system in the United States because in this country nannies are considered to be unskilled workers. In Britain, however, childcare institutions offer training, certification, and continuing education for nannies. We believe that trained nannies are professionals who bring a unique set of skills and information to the families they work with.

Q4. What types of nannies do you source through your nanny search & advisory and agency services?

We source nannies from a wide variety of nationalities, cultures and backgrounds, with differing levels of childcare experience, education and language skills. All nannies have passed our rigorous, multi-round interview and selection process and are legal workers in the United States.

Q5. Do you offer background checks and employment contracts through your nanny agency service?

They are not part of our standard agency service. However, for additional fees, we are happy to run background checks and execute employment contracts on your behalf.

Q6. What happens if I find a nanny through Urban Nurture and I end up not liking her? Do I get a free replacement?

Yes, we offer search & advisory and agency clients a one-time, two-week free replacement guarantee. This offer does not apply to temporary positions.
