Urban Nurture is a boutique childcare consultancy based in Tribeca, New York. Our philosophy is rooted in the traditions of the British nanny system, which recognizes nannies as qualified professionals, and embraces structure, routine and boundaries. In a city as service orientated as New York, where having a nanny is not at all uncommon, it is surprising that the childcare scene lacks professionalism, industry standards and a voice of authority. Whether you need a nanny or just need help with your parenting issues, Urban Nurture is the new industry leader, offering unique services, delivered with the panache that New Yorkers expect.

Sally Wilkinson is the founder of Urban Nurture. She is a British citizen living in Tribeca with her husband and twin boys. Sally is an economist by training and an entrepreneur at heart. Before creating Urban Nurture, Sally spent more than a decade in investment banking and a year as public policy advisor to the Shadow Chancellor in the run-up to the 2005 British General Election. Urban Nurture has become the perfect symbiosis of Sally's zeal for research and business and her passion for parenthood and the parenting and childcare community of Manhattan.

Claire Jones is one of Urban Nurture’s prized parent coaches. She joined the team after fourteen years in the field as a professional British nanny, working in several international capitals. Through her experience as a nanny and new mom to baby Brooke, Claire has unique insight into family relationships and various parenting styles. She knows what works with raising kids, yet she has a great knack for being open minded and believes in a collaborative approach when it comes to parent coaching.

Victoria Bowles is one of Britain's leading maternity nurses and Urban Nurture's newborn parent coach. Over the course of a career spanning thirteen years, Vicki has cared for nearly one hundred newborn babies, including fifteen sets of twins. Vicki is the go-to on everything newborn through three months, including newborn care, sleep training, care of multiples and breastfeeding. As well as being wonderful with babies, Vicki has a knack for making even the most desperate parents feel uplifted and capable. Vicki is based in the U.K. and consults with Urban Nurture clients via phone.

Julie Park holds down the fort at Urban Nurture as operations manager. Julie has a rich childcare background as a former assistant kindergarten teacher (at the Anderson Program at PS 9) and a devoted babysitter to several families during her undergraduate years at Barnard College in New York. She has worked for large companies to small start ups and after several years of managerial experience in the wine industry she has found in Urban Nurture the perfect place for her blend of experiences.

Julia Conant is the newest addition to the Urban Nurture team and is our nanny screening coordinator. Julia is a rising senior at NYU majoring in psychology. She is also a seasoned interviewer, a skill she acquired interviewing parents and children for several psychology research studies, and which she applies every day interviewing nanny candidates for Urban Nurture. In her hectic schedule, Julia also finds time to baby sit for several families in NYC.
